Sophie Jahnke – Design

Sophie Jahnke is a graphic designer and illustrator. She communicates a wide variety of public space and knowledge transfer topics through user-oriented information design, visual storytelling and the selection and design of print, exhibition and online formats. With her analytical approach, she helps to structure, hierarchise and prioritise information before giving abstract concepts and visions their very own graphic expression. In this way, she translates technical planning vocabulary into a generally understandable language on the one hand and finds images for visually fleeting choreographies and interventions of the urban on the other. A playful-ironic view facilitates access to the complex specialist themes & worlds of her work. For over ten years Sophie has worked in synergistic partnership with landscape architects, urban planners and exhibition designers. She advises cities such as Bern, Zurich and Munich on communicating their development strategies to their citizens, works on the design of collective memory, and plans visitor information and orientation systems.
